Site Popups
Google/translate0Thank You!1Good Post!0Bad Post! link
I have created a site popup for all the site's links now.

Personally i think it's a very big change in the UI, and maybe unfair to the site owners to change this on the fly.

Please Use the poll to vote for your opinion regarding the site popups.

Try "open in new tab" to directly open sites.

Uh, I'm not sure what feature you are referring to. ;-)
So I clicked on some logos that can be either found below the username in the forums as well as in my account in the list of the sites I am linked to... There is a popup, which is ok I guess. That wouldn't be such a big change in UI, so I guess you refer to something else... Maybe you can specify on that?!

But as I found a few problems regarding this one, I'll just post the issue here:
If you click on a logo, the image is brought out (I guess that is intended) a little. If I then close the popup, the image remains (and I fear this is not) enlarged... But on some icons the opposite happens. If I click on the OTW-Logo the image even shrinks and also remains tiny after leaving the popup...

Anyway, keep up the good work! I'll come back later and participate in the vote then...

Indeed i refer more to clicking on the sitenames.
When you click on a site it will not direct you to the site immediately.
Instead the popup is shown, so you can jump to rankings more easily.

BTW: Thanks for the bugreport, maybe i find time soon to investigate that. ( I hoped nobody would notice the bug Drool )

Ok, that's what I first thought the topic is about, but then I hovered a link, seeing the URL in the status bar and thought it remained the same as before... Smile

To be honest: I don't think I really need those popups, but I guess I can deal with them. Maybe I even gonna like them one day, but at the moment I don't see the real benefit of having them.
I guess if you implement the double click you mentioned in the poll, most users should be fine with it. So I'll go with that option for now...

So long!

The main purpose of that site popup everywhere is easier access to a site's ranking or detail pages.

I will not implement the doubleclick, as it would add a different behaviour to the popus. doubleclick always meant "close popup" to the user/site popups,
and we can use the middle mouse button or rightclick->open in new (?:tab|window) to navigate to a site directly.

Although i am aware it's quite a change to wechalls UI behaviour; hoping all are fine with that.

Happy Easter!

How about a simple '?' icon (or something) besides the names that you can click for the popup? You might even only show it when a user hovers over the name. This way you can have the single click redirection as well as an opportunity to get more info.
