serious help  Go to the Preg Evasion challenge

since i either will go crazy or make a post here i prefer the later..
so this challenge is driving me crazy..i searched almost everywhere for a known bug-exploit of the function but found nothing usefull.
i then tried to "manually crash" it but got nowhere too..i tried some other things also (but i 'm not sure if they are spoilers or not to mention)..
anyway i need some help here to point me to the right direction..or pm someone what i've done so far to tell me if i missed something..

I think I know what's this about still I can't successfully exploit it.
Is there any default 'stuff' changed ?

As far as i remember, we are using default settings in the php.ini for the values in question.

Is the challenge working ? I found a single thing that could fool the preg_match, as the challenges states, but apparently the solution validator doesn't agree with my idea. Can I PM someone who solved this challenge to check my solution out ?
