I wonder what's the point of having all those complicated scripts to adjust the site scores if the basescores are biased and not the same for all sites. This being said if you really want to differentiate between the obviously hardcore sites and the obviously much easier ones, then you should only have two sets of basescores, eg: 10k and 5k. Not 6k, 7k, 8k, 9k and 10k, because then you're starting to be impartial.
Yeah, as i said all sites, except one or two, will have the same basescore any soon, so no more biased basescores, only the scripts decide.
The basescore for non-english sites have been lower than for english sites a long time, and i think it`s time to drop that rule

And a little off topic: For Newbie Contest it would be better if you took into account the number of challenges solved instead of the number of points. The thing is that because of the system in place there the score drops by about 5 points everyday and everyone stops updating his stats even though they solve a challenge now and then.
I suppose you mean the maxscore varies a bit on Newbie Contest.
If a site`s maxscore changes, our data will be still accurate (for example a chall gets added), but the small glitches are there because the userscore changes a bit too i suppose.
I guess this will only be very small glitches, maybe 0.01% here and there.
But you pointed out a general problem with the scoring; Some sites score by points and others by challcount.
Take infomirmo as example which scores by points and its hard to get 10% there.
Now we take the 0.10 and you get 0.10*0.10*score for infomirmo.
Other sites score by challcount, and it`s easier to gain 10%
Of course this gets reflected in the scoring, because on the easier site the avg will be higher, but maybe we can take the two different scoring shemes into account in future. (maybe adjust scores for one type to behave similar or use 2 different algos)
All in all i think that scoring by score is better than by challcount, and we should not reduce this back to challcount.
I hope all players are happy with the more equal basescores.
