Hmm my version does not open the .asc file. I need to put in that stuff manually. Strange, that could have the following problems:
a) wrong program -> no
b) wrong version -> looks like, I've got that problem
c) missing something -> don't think so

Edit: solved Smile

Yes, it is **i* * **** but you dont need the * **** part Smile

It's a general purpose windows hacking program. P.S. you need a[n old] version that is able to import .asc files.

And which uses the old PSA InsecurID format, not the new one - importing .asc is not important, you have every info without the content of the asc, seed + serial is completly enough. asc + (seed + serial) is a redundant info, but it helps people who either have these or those tools. There are also good C source codes to pass the challenge, but not all of them are good for this chall, because those need another info, not the ones you have.

ASC contains both seed and serial, yes.

But we were talking about that gpwh program. If there is no way to import asc, it needs longer seeds(/xml file); that is not compatible with old PSA InSecurID.

Sure, everyone may use other means to pass this challenge. That program is just one hint.

I know that this challenge was just completed at the beginning of the month, but could someone make sure its still working? I can't seem to get the right value, even though i'm using "a" correct version of the mentioned "general purpose windows hacking program" and have tried a large range of times (though only the 24 minutes after the hour times) with multiple time zones (yes, there was overlap, but i was just making sure). If its still working, can someone please give me a pointer to what i might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

i've not done the first part yet due to lazyness(cba plugging in my backtrack usb).
but from this last part if its what i'm thinking of, the newest version of THE_PROGRAM doesn't like to work because it trys to grab the info from your own computer rather than work on a pre-given file, if you search google i think theres a way around this to force it to use ONLY the given file... if that helps.

also to anyone not sure what to use... in england during the war if you were bad in school you would get the ??i?, and able minded people would not be bad again....
chmod ---x--x--x,, i'm illiterate!

actually, you have to use an older version of the program because the current version uses the newer version. the version i was using allowed me to specify "the file".

Hi all, at the last part of this challenge I have already found the old version of **i* that can import the .asc file. (The searching part took me 4hrs..) But I just can't generate the right code. I have also found that the program use the timezone information before it's launched, i.e. it does not use the timezone adjusted after being launched. Now I am able to generate the same results using 2012-07-27 14:24:00 UTC+1 and 2012-07-27 21:24:00 UTC+8 as time information, but the code is incorrect for this challenge.
Any hints? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Solved. Think about D*T.
